This privacy policy explains how Munns Marketing Limited ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects personal information when you use our website at munnsmarketing.com. We've tried to keep it as plain-English as possible. If anything is unclear, email us at elliot@munnsmarketing.com and we'll explain.
The short version: We collect what you tell us through the contact form, plus standard analytics if you give consent. We don't sell your data. You have rights under UK GDPR and we'll honour them. For anything else, read on.

2. What information we collect
Information you give us
When you use the contact form on our website, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your company name (optional)
- The message you send us
If you email us directly, we keep the contents of that correspondence.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider (Netlify) records technical information about every visit, including IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and timestamps. This is standard for any modern website and is used for security and to keep the site running.
Information collected via cookies and tracking technologies
We use the following analytics and advertising tools, which set cookies and may collect information about your visit:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — to understand how visitors use the site
- Google Ads conversion tracking — to measure performance of our Google Ads campaigns
- Meta Pixel — to measure performance of Facebook and Instagram advertising and to retarget visitors
- LinkedIn Insight Tag — to measure performance of LinkedIn advertising and to retarget visitors
- Microsoft UET (Bing Ads) — to measure performance of Microsoft Advertising
- Microsoft Clarity — heatmaps and session recording, to understand how visitors interact with the site
These tools only run if you give consent through our cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time — see the Cookies section below.
3. Why we use this information and our lawful basis
Under UK GDPR we need a "lawful basis" for using your personal information. Here's how each use maps:
| What we do with it | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Respond to your enquiry | Legitimate interest (running our business and replying to a direct request from you) |
| Send follow-up emails about your enquiry | Legitimate interest |
| Keep the website secure and prevent abuse | Legitimate interest |
| Analytics, advertising and retargeting | Consent (which you can withdraw at any time) |
| Comply with legal, accounting and tax obligations | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interest, we have considered your rights and freedoms and balanced them against our reasons for using your data. You can object to this at any time — see Your rights below.
4. Who we share your information with
We use the following third parties to run our business. Each acts as a data processor on our instructions and is bound by data protection terms.
- Netlify (United States) — website hosting and contact form processing
- Google Workspace (United States) — business email
- Google (United States) — Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads
- Meta Platforms Inc. (United States) — Meta Pixel
- LinkedIn Corporation / Microsoft (United States) — LinkedIn Insight Tag and Microsoft UET
- Microsoft Clarity (United States) — heatmaps and session recording
We may also share your data:
- With professional advisers (accountants, lawyers) where necessary and confidential
- With law enforcement or regulators if required by law
- With a buyer or successor if we sell or restructure the business
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. International data transfers
Most of the third parties above are based in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on:
- The UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the receiving company is certified, or
- UK Standard Contractual Clauses (or the International Data Transfer Addendum) approved by the UK government
You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards in place by emailing elliot@munnsmarketing.com.
6. How long we keep your information
| Type of data | How long we keep it |

| Server logs | Up to 90 days |
| Analytics data (GA4) | 14 months (default GA4 retention) |

7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- Delete your information (subject to certain conditions)
- Restrict how we process your information
- Move your data to another provider (data portability)

8. Complaints
If you're not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):

9. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use:
Strictly necessary cookies
Used to make the website work — for example, remembering your cookie consent preferences. These don't require consent and you can't switch them off.
Analytics and advertising cookies
Used to measure how the site performs and to support advertising (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, Microsoft UET, heatmaps). These only run if you give consent through our cookie banner.
You can manage cookies in two ways:
- Through our cookie banner — appears the first time you visit, and you can change your preferences at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer
- Through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. The aboutcookies.org guide explains how
Blocking cookies may break some features of the site.
10. Children
Our services are aimed at businesses, not individuals under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please email elliot@munnsmarketing.com and we'll delete it.
11. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information — secure hosting, encrypted email (TLS), strong passwords with two-factor authentication, and limited access to data on a need-to-know basis. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security — but we take it seriously.
12. Automated decision-making
We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects for you.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know — for example, by email if you're a client, or by a prominent notice on the site.
